There is, of course, no substitute to dedication and hard work, but we want to make things as easy and straightforward for you as possible.
For this reason we have compiled some study skills resources and tutorials, developed at the University by our Centre for Academic Practice, Information Services team and the Schools and Colleges Liaison team. We hope these resources will help you make the most of your time in sixth form or college, as well as help you prepare for HE.
Volunteering and work experience looks great to prospective employers and can really boost your CV, whilst also enhancing your time at university. Through involvement in different voluntary projects or work experience you will meet lots of different people, including fellow students and people already working or volunteering in that environment. Getting invovled can also boost your confidence, give you new skills and provide a tatse of what a career in your choosen field can really be like.
Your university will normally have a volunteering centre and careers services, these teams will help you find the best placement or project for you.
