Q: How do I decide where to apply?
A: Making university choices can be a tricky process, however, carefully researching institutions and courses will make this process easier.
When making your choices there are several elements it is important to consider
- The institution, most universities will have similar facilities but make sure you visit the campus, this can really tell you what it would be like to be a student at the institution.
- The course, using the UCAS website and the Stamford test can help you to make the choice that would suit you best, if you are torn between two subjects you may want to consider a joint/combined honours course.
- The location, deciding how far is too far (or not far enough!), this will help you narrow down your choices, remembering that some courses are only offered by a selction of universities so this may effect your options.
Going away to university can be a big step so ensuring you have all the information available will ensure you make the best choice for you.
