Q: Who will I live with at university?
A: While you are studying in Higher Education (HE) you will have several choices regarding where you live.
Many first year students move into Halls of Residence - or more commonly refered to as 'Halls', which is university managed accommodation and can include flats or houses. These properties are only occupied by students but may be a mixture of first, second, third year or postgraduate students.
When you receive accommodation information from your university you will usually be asked to complete a form (or forms) stating preference in several areas, such as choosing between a mixed or single gender flat. Completing and returning these forms in good time will help ensure you get your first choice in accommodation.
If you do not plan to stay in Halls but still require accommodation your institution will usually have an accommodation team to help.
Some students decide to stay at home, or in their current residence, these students may choose to join more clubs or societies in order to meet a wider range of people.
